popper copper

When I say I'd like to sell Copper on eBay...I kid.
We all have low moments, right?
I like her.
She's a good dog.

flippin awesome

Tomorrow FedEx should show up at my door with one of these babies:
The video camera on my phone no longer works and my other video camera isn't handy enough to keep in my purse. I know it's been a long time since ya'll have gotten to see a video of my Coley...not much longer and I'll be giving my people what they want.

annipic

Andy and I started a new tradition this year. We're writing each other letters [although I'll always accept chocolate too] and taking a picture together then saving it in scrapbook for each Anniversary. I think the letters will grow in value as the years go by.

He wanted to take a full body picture in front of our fireplace but the only person home to take that picture was Copper and she's not that talented. PLUS, I choose to use my veto powers because until I birth my child and get my body under control there will be no full body pictures being taken if I have anything to do with it. Molly is currently the only cute part of my bod...and my head is kinda cute too [when I've done my hair].

Here is our annipic for 2010.
I love Andy's head.
It's bigger than mine, which we all know how hard it is to find a head bigger than mine. So we're pretty much a perfect match.

Do you have any traditions with your hubby?

this moment

I'm just sitting here...listening to worship music thinking about my little girl. I want to meet her, I want to kiss her and tell her how much I love her. I want to tell her how much Jesus loves her. I keep rubbing my belly just thinking that I need to remember this moment.

I am so blessed.
I've got my health.
I've got my husband.
I've got my little boy.

And more importantly I've got a God that promises me that the best thing on earth isn't on this earth.

I've got eternal life.

3 years of the good stuff.

Today I celebrate three years of marriage with my man.
I'm still really in love.

I would re-live my wedding day in a second.
Jan 27th 2007.
It was perfect.

The boys snuck up to the girls room on our wedding day while we were taking pictures and stole our bagels from Panera. We were left sharing a bag of Sun Chips and a bottle of water [all of which I took care of]. A few minutes later, someone bought them McDonald's while we withered away.
Of course a wedding day doesn't make a marriage. It takes thought and effort, from both people, every single day. It's not always easy but it's always worth it. We've been together for 5 years, married for 3 and I can't express how 'right' life feels. Marrying Andy is by far one of the best things I've ever done.

We're going to celebrate by spending the day with each other. My in laws have Colt for the day and night. We're gonna get lunch, go buy some clothes for Molly so she's not naked for the first 3 months of life, watch our wedding and honeymoon videos, make a fire and get Pizza Hut for dinner. So you can clearly see we're going all out here. But really all I want to do is just be with my man.

Last night Andy and I were talking about our wedding day. He told me he weighed the same he did as the day we got married...then I punched him in the face. He's the hottie tottie and I make the babies.

3 years
2 babies
1 love

That should be a Hallmark card.

bidwell

Mom and Dad have a little wooden butler at their house.
We so lovingly call him Bidwell.
He holds things on a tray.
Colt really likes Bidwell.
He gives him hugs and sometimes shares his sippie cup.

Bidwell is also apart of our circus.

January 24, 2010

the circus

Uncle Spencer first showed Colt that he could juggle with a few clementines from our fruit bowl. So of course, every time Spence comes over Colt runs to the fruit bowl and asks him to juggle whatever is in the bowl. This time it was apples...which blend in with walls that are painted apple green which is why it looks as if Spence is juggling air.
Andy knows how to juggle too. With all the jugglers in the family Colt will randomly grab three balls from his toy box, stick out his tongue [his try face], and start throwing balls in the air. How could you not want to kiss that cuteness all day long???

We've got jugglers and a midget [hi mom!]...we could start a circus.

3:30am

One annoying thing about being pregnant is the constant urge to have to urinate and sometimes in the middle of the night. At 3:30a last night I rolled to my side and gave myself a pep talk, I know you don't want to get up but you have to pee...just go now. Move your feet and start walking or you might wet the bed. So I did.

The bathroom light was so bright as soon as I had assumed position on the toilet [TMI? haha!!] I just decided that I didn't need to use my eyes at this point so I sat there with my eyes shut. I my head I was thinking of a friend who had seen a man standing at the foot of her bed and I thought to myself what if I opened my eyes and there was a dude standing there? That would be crazy right? Right!

A few seconds later I opened my eyes to grab some toilet paper and saw TWO FEET standing in the doorway of my bathroom!! I screamed at the top of my lungs, about flew off the toilet and did some karate chop hand movements in the air, as to defend myself . I hadn't heard Andy get out of bed and walk over to the waiting line for our bathroom so there he stood with his eyes closed waiting for me.

I jump all the time, I'm really jumpy, he scares me without even trying on a daily basis but he realllly got me this time. I walked back to bed and flung myself in the middle trying to calm down. I'm pretty sure that's the quickest my heart has ever gone from a resting heart rate to wanting to jump out of my body.

When Andy returned to bed I lay there all bug-eyed still trying to calm my nerves. He told me what I looked like from his view...sitting on the toilet with my eyes closed and a second later screaming and flailing my arms around. He said at one point he thought he was going to have to try to catch me cause he really thought I was going down. We both started to laugh uncontrollably. I was crying from laughing so hard. Ahh good times.

Then we went back to bed.

Moral of the story?
Don't pee with your eyes closed.

pop a squat

monkey see.
monkey do.

Although they're both up my butt 24/7...they're really cute together.

January 21, 2010

eatin' like a naked king

We've had some rear end problems this week. The meanest case of diarrhea and a rash that was out of this world and in my eyes uncontrollable until the diarrhea went away. Of course, this all happened to Colt and NOT me...in case you thought I was the one with the diarrhea/diaper rash.

Now that we're clear on that, here is a picture of Colt eating lunch without any clothes on, because really, naked is much better when your butt's on fire. Think about a blistery sunburn on your booty. During one of his naked episodes he pooped and pee'd in our storage ottoman.

That was funny.

blow darts

Mo: Why are blow darts on your list 'to buy' in your blackberry?
Andy: To remind me to buy some.
Mo: Why oh why, do you need blow darts?
Andy: For my blowgun, I found it while cleaning the basement.
Mo: What are you going to dart?
Andy: Rabbits.
Mo: What did they ever do to you?
Andy: They eat my hostas. I'm a good shot too. I'll bet you I can hit the door nob with a dart from the couch. You'd appreciate it.

The madness never ends.

cry for me

Whenever Andy, Colt and I are in the car running errands and I hop out to run into a store Colt cries for me to come back. Crock tears. He's so cute.

Today after church, Andy ran into the grocery while Colt and I waited in the car. As Andy got out he prepped Colt, "I'm gonna leave now. You know Colt, you can cry for me too...it's okay".

He walked out, glancing back a few times to get the 'Yes' or 'No' look from me to see if he was crying and as soon as he was out of sight, I got to send him this pix message:

Mo: "He DOES love you!"
Andy: Is it wrong that that makes me happy?

I might have pinched him.

trash

At 6:30am this morning I heard a loud noise in my neighborhood and thought, 'Is this a school bus or a trash truck??'. I then jolted from bed, just like a jack-in-the-box, and ran out of my room towards the garage because I forgot to put the trash out last night.

I ran past the front door, hopped into Andy's boots and ran straight outside pulling a huge trash can heaping full of trash in one hand and extra bags that didn't fit in the trash in my other hand, all the while trying to beat the trash truck to the end of my driveway. As soon as I got there he drove right past me. I was freezing, in my pj's and my eye's were still adjusting to the street light...and there I stood dissed by the trash truck.

He stopped at my next door neighbor's house and I thought for a second about yelling, 'Hey! I know I'm late...wanna back it up for me? I've got trash in my hands', but I hadn't yet tested my vocal chords for the day and sometimes my voice doesn't work right away. So I just stood there and then realized that my trash can said 'Allied Waste Services' and didn't match the 'Waste Management' logo on the side of the truck. It wasn't even my trash service. Bahhh.

It would have been even more embarrassing if I would have asked him to back it up only to realize it's the wrong trash truck. I probably would have just been like, 'Never mind. Going back to bed'.

Ohhhhh Mo

pants on the ground

I DVR American Idol so I can fast forward most of the boring parts, i.e. people who can't sing...but I happened to catch this dude and I gotta say, I really like him.

This morning Colt's sweatpants started to sag and I shouted,
"LOOKIN LIKE A FOOL WITH YOUR PANTS ON THE GROUND!"

Sometimes stupid things are funny.

my table shrunk

While my Mom and Grandma were painting Moll's room, my Grandpa and Andy got busy on a few projects of their own. I somehow managed to 'assist' all the projects that day, put a pizza in the oven and organize the baby's closet.

Their biggest project of the day was cutting down our dining room table. We bought a bar height dining room table three years ago when we moved in our house. Since then I'm pretty sure we've sat at the table maybe 5 times. It's so high my mom needs a forklift just to sit in the chair [she's 4'11', which I think is legally considered a midget. love you mom!] So Andy and Grandpa used a hand saw and got to cutting the table down to normal dining table height. We love our newly shrunk table.

Colt is learning the hard way that the table has shrunk. He used to be able to run under it and now, well...not so much. His head has gotten a few good bonks but they were mostly in the first few days and I think we're past the pain.

It's good to have a carpenter in the family and a loving Grandpa!

mega boots

Colt likes to put on Andy's Crock boots.
Talk about thigh highs.

January 12, 2010

bad shirt

So I wore this shirt for the first time thinking it was cute and fashionable and then I discovered that Colt thought it was fun to grab the lower two buttons and twist them...all day long...while we were running errands and at the doctors office. Embarrassing.

76 kinds of wrong right there people.

baby huey

25 weeks. How all my shirts are starting to fit...hence the baby Huey reference.

operation molly's room

The beginning: Mom starting on the hot pink:Grandma peeling tape away:The end: Colt's room just got reduced in rank as far as coolness goes.

Isn't it so cute? Me likey.

January 7, 2010

baby torture

My mom bought Molly's Christmas dress for next year already.
I think she's excited for a girl or something.
Before we put Colt in his pj's last night we tried the dress on him.
Notice the sweeper? I told you he's obsessed. He loved the freedom of the 'no pants' thing.
I'm pretty sure he could run faster in a dress.
Just for the record, Andy protested this picture being taken for a good five minutes but I did it anyway.

Colt, your mommy loves you.

in this home...

Some day I will have the wall decal in my house somewhere...

Until then, I shall save my money.

lyds

I had planned on writing this blog in March sometime but when life throws ya a curve ball ya just go with it.

My friend Angela had her little girl, Lydia, via emergency c-section on Monday evening. Lyds came into this world a whopping 10 weeks early. She was 2lbs, 11oz and we're not sure about her length. Ang had some complications due to pre-eclampsia and her doctors knew it was best for Angela's sake to get Lydia out ASAP. Thank goodness she had her check up when she did or things could have taken a even more scary, tragic turn. God's timing is always perfect.

This picture really doesn't do Lyds much justice. She looked super cute here, but she's even more beautiful in person. She was kicking her arms and legs all around yesterday. She even gave me the one-eyed-willie and peeked at me. She's got big eyes and the most adorable 'Ang' nose.

I was lucky to get to visit Ang yesterday. I sat there for a few hours just chatting it up trying to wrap my mind around what she had just gone through. One minute you're feeling fairly normal, enjoying your little one kick you from the inside and the next minute your getting prepped for surgery.

Before I went to the hospital yesterday I printed off a picture of Lydia and put it in frame for Ang so even though she can't be right next to her, at least she can stare at her baby girl whenever she wants. I feel like that would be the hardest part, being so far from your baby, you know that one that was living in you just a few days before.

Angela is recovering well from her surgery. All her vitals are looking good and her spirit has sky rocketed through the roof. I expected to see a quiet, exhausted Angela when I walked in her room yesterday...I walked in and was greeted by her just chatting it up, laughing, still shocked by the string of events but not easily phased. I'm pretty sure she's stronger than I think I would be at this point.

She's got Jesus in her heart.
It's amazing what he'll see you through.

Pray for little Lydia.
She's still got a lot of growing to do.
