punkin

Fall is finally here. I'm so excited to take Coley to the punkin patch this year. I have a feeling he'll try to french kiss the goats. He likes to kiss animals. AND now that we're officially walking/running everywhere we go, maybe he'll pick out his own pumpkin too. I of course will be video taping. What is it about Fall that makes me so giddy? Here are some pix of Coley enjoying his trip to the patch from last year :)

snug

So happy to be snug in his Daddy's arms.

mush

I feel like I'm extra hormonal this pregnancy. Maybe I just already forgot what it's like and I was this mushy when pregnant with Colt too. But lately, what's on my mind is my husband. 24 hours a day...every single day of the week. I love him. I mean, WOW. I really love him.

Last night I was curled up in a ball in his arms...bawling, just because I could and I missed him. He HAD been sleeping because he went to bed before me but I of course made an entrance and woke him up. I buried my head into his arms [snot and tears pouring all over his tattoos]...and of course he started being the sweet sensitive man he is trying to make me feel better.

He prayed for me and then I asked him if we could always stay this much in love. And he said YES.

I'm pretty sure I've got everything I'll ever need in that guy.
I'm really glad he's mine.

christmas in september

After crawling across my mattress and realizing that my knee was hitting the box spring...AND after Andy was laying still one night and felt a spring go hay wire underneath him...AND after we worked our booties off in August and had some money left over in the budget...We decided to buy ourselves a new mattress. AND since we can't totally justify dropping hundreds of bucks just because we want something new we decided we would make it our Christmas present to each other, but we'd wouldn't have to wait until Christmas to get it :)

There was a Sealy sale and since I used to work at a furniture store I and since I know the right people we got a great price on a brand new Randolph Terrace Queen Cushion Firm Pillow Top mattress.

Let's just say we slept like babies.
This morning was the first day in months Andy said his back wasn't killing him when he woke up!
Merry Christmas Baby!
Now...how many naps can I squeeze in today?
All I want to do is to go back to sleep :)

i said a little prayer

Via text messages with my husband today:
Mo: This little guy is hurt and dying on our side walk :( :(
Andy: Good. Go stomp on him to send a message to his friends.
Mo: N I C E. I said a prayer for him instead!

Andy would stomp him out. I sat in my Pilot and said a prayer with Colt for the little buddy that God would take his pain away and he would frolic happily from tree to tree in heaven. I'm not even kidding. AND, can you guys imagine me trying to stomp on this guy with his big brown eyes gawking back at me...I mean, you know how I am with bugs. Andy...how could you be so heartless?

pee and bubbles

This morning Colt woke 1-2 hours earlier that he usually does. I finally gave in and tried to rock him for a bit only to notice after holding him close for a few seconds that his pj's were soaked from his knees up to his neck...in pee. How you manage to wet the bed while wearing a diaper still amazes me. Race horse.

So we had an early morning 'bubble' and he had lots of fun. I however am still tired and am left wondering if there are any over night diapers that will actually keep the pee in the diaper? We don't have that many pj's which means I might have to do laundry. Which is never good.

Colt also likes to make bubbles 'which you have to pop'...as Andy would put it. If your confused he toots in the tub. Then he makes the following face...why do kids instantly think farting is funny???

we grow em

Nice huh? These babies are from our garden! On Friday I turned them all into stuffed bell peppers then I froze them [did you know you can freeze cooked stuffed bell pepper and then just thaw for a quick delicious home made meal??? Thanks Grandma!] Anyhow. I was pretty proud of our pepper plants this year. If you need some tomatoes we've got about a billion dillion in our back yard on the verge or rotting so hop on over and help yourself, but beware of dog. She's a psycho.

September 18, 2009

the ugliest chair i've ever seen.

Sometimes in life I'm forced to sit in the ugliest waiting room I've ever seen. Yesterday was one of those days. I switched family doctors after what happened to my Dad and yesterday I met with her for the first time. I know some people don't notice ugly, old, out dated decor but I can't help but sit and stare and think...OH what I could do to this place with some paint and a few hundred bucks. I would even offer my service for free.

Anyhow. Luckily she's an amazing woman and I really, really like her so I will definitely be going back to sit in the ugly waiting room because she was worth it. BUT, look at the waiting room chairs. The ugliest chairs I've ever seen in my life. Maple side chairs with a greenish fabric that was all faded and in the wood...EYEBALLS. Eyeballs were carved into the wood. NOTE: If these are your dining room chairs...I'm sure they look great in your house.

I always feel like somebodies watching me.

the everyday moments

A typical day...in short video clips.

These may be nothing to you...
but even these moments...

the every day moments are some of my favorite.
I love him so much.

September 15, 2009

my husband

is a hottie.
I tell him all the time.
See...He's almost wearing overalls.
We could match. :)

September 14, 2009

overalls?

Should pregnant woman be allowed to purchase/wear blue jean overalls if they're on sale and look kinda cute online?? Or are overalls just for toddlers and farmers? Hee Haw.

last night

was rough.

1st. A large glass jar filled with tomato sauce [from our garden, which I canned] fell off the fridge and landed on my head. Actually, landed on my bobby pin which dug into my head. Then it gracefully rolled down my back and landed on the floor...in one piece. Glad I could break it's fall. I cried and swore [it just came out!] and blamed it all on Andy. NOTE: I guess I should have had a V8. Right?

2nd. Colt was up 4-5 times last night just crying and crying. I gave him some Motrin. I think his teeth were hurting. After I went in about 3-4 times rocking him trying to get him to go back to sleep Andy finally went in the last time for me. Not that I could sleep through his wailing. Andy came in a few minutes later huffing and puffing [colt still wailing in the back ground]. I guess when Andy started to rock him Colt thought it was a good idea to wiggle to the ground and make a mad dash for the door. I guess he was awake. NOTE: Babies are confusing sometimes. Here I am, my heart is breaking because I think he's getting an ear infection and his teeth are killing him and Andy is pretty sure he's just throwing a fit [ at 3am] and wants to play. So we let him cry...which is hard to do, for me at least.

3rd. While Colt was wailing himself back to sleep. My noggin started to throb right where the canning jar nailed the bobby pin into my head. And there I lay...for an hour...wide awake. Thinking the entire time, 'Dear Lord, please don't let him have a hematoma like Dad. Please keep my vessels closed. No brain bleeds for me tonight...pretty please?' I would have taken Ibuprofen but prego people can't take that...and for me Tylenol does jack crap. So I just prayed. It feels better this morning. NOTE: Don't do drugs.

4th. At 6am [which is technically today...not last night, but so is 3am I guess] I woke up abruptly from my sleep with only one thought in my head, 'eat something...fast...or your gonna puke' so I wobbled into the kitchen [Andy was bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for work] popped some toast in the toaster...took a few deep breaths to avoid the puking part. I'm so dramatic. Made the toast and went back to bed. Had myself breakfast in bed. Told Andy about Kanye West's retardedness at the VMA's last night. Got yelled at [not really] for not making him coffee while I was in the kitchen for those 5 dramatic seconds. And went back to sleep. NOTE: Keep bread and a toaster by your bed so you can make toast without getting up. But don't stick your feet in the toaster like Michael Scott did with the bacon/George Foreman incident. Not pretty. "Sombody call 9 1 1..."

September 13, 2009

a year or so later.

When Andy and I signed up for a 6 week Lamaze class before Colt was born we didn't really know what we were getting into. Luckily, we learns TONS from the class and enjoyed the company of a bunch of neat couples. Since then we've gotten together with all the babies when they were 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and today we gathered celebrating 1 year! A year ago none of us were getting sleep and now none of us can sit still for more than two seconds before we are up chasing our little bumpkins around. Evi, Henry, Anna, Colt and Brady [Absent: Riley]

bubbles

are for popping not eating.

September 12, 2009

no.

What we're working on with Colt:

No means No...not 'go ahead and laugh at me'.

Seriously. He laughs when I say No. I give it my best serious face but there comes a breaking point for any mother/father when you say NO and that cheesy-10 tooth-grin finally gets to you and you have no other choose than than to bite your lip and pretend like your not laughing, turn your head so the laughter is not seen or just flat out laugh right along with them. This may be my problem. HE IS TOO CUTE. I CAN'T HELP MYSELF.

He will however listen to me if I say NO and then hit the counter along with it and make a noise...kinda 1/2 way scare him into thinking that I'm serious. BUT THEN....oh there is a BUT...he gets this blank stare on his face like, 'Mom...that was kinda loud...why are you being mean?' and his bottom lip slowly starts to pull out from his top lip and quiver. He'll s l o w l y start to drop these crocodile tears and it's the sweetest sad face I've ever seen and I can't help from just kissing his face. It's ridiculous.

HE'S GETS ME EITHER WAY!

Seriously though...Any advice? He also throws everything off his high chair tray on to the floor. He especially loves to throw his sippie cup and he's a total stinker about it. But really, he doesn't throw fits or hit or bite [yet] and so if this is the worse trouble he's ever given me...I'm OK with it.

9/11

On 9/11 I was in the middle of taking an exam when I heard the news. Life stopped. School stopped. I didn't even finish the test. My parents were flying around the same time the attack happened. They had flown over New York on their way to New Jersey for a quick vacation. I thought it was their plane. Luckily they had landed about an hour before New York came crashing down.

What were you doing on 9/11?

life is unpredictable.

This week I've had a few moments where I've been listening to a story or reading a blog and I've just absolutely lost it. All these stories had to do with babies either struggling with an illness or loosing a battle and leaving this world prematurely.

I heard the story of a little boy named Dillion who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2. I'm sure his parents never saw it coming. At Colt's age this little boy was perfectly healthy for all they knew. Of course, the entire time I can't help but think of my baby...and how anything could happen. Anything could happen to anyone.

Life is unpredictable.

The truth that I'm clingy to today is that we aren't guaranteed tomorrow.
I want to hug and kiss my baby today.
I want to love with all my heart today.
I want to be the best wife I can be today.
I want to be more like Jesus today.

You only have today once.
Waste not.

looser

It's almost here. After watching this preview I pretty much got teary eyed. Mix a good show and my hormones and you have a big cry baby. Be prepared my Biggest Looser clique, when we gather to watch I will have my Kleenex box near by!

blurb...excuse me.

Question: Who is in charge of the internet and making sure it never goes away? I mean, this is a serious question. What if one day we just wake up and there is a big red X on our computer screen with a message that says, Sorry for your inconvenience...the internet is gone.

Well, I'm preparing for that day, kinda of like my Dad prepared for y2k when he bought 3 gallons of purified water and kept them in basement just in case the world came crashing down. The water was obviously there to keep us alive. He was thinking ahead. [Hi dad. I love you :)].

Anyhow.

Kaley told me about this website once where you can turn your blog into a book. Like a hard copy. You can take it places. AND that's what I plan to do since I don't have the internet on my phone. I'm going to get a hard copy made of my blog and keep it in my Mary Poppins bag. But really, I'm making my blog into a book and the program is prettttty sweeeet. It's like scrap booking with out the crap.

You should check it out because after all...no one can give me a good explanation of who is in charge of the making sure the internet never disappears.

p.s. Andy is completely surprised that no one gave him a hard time about leaving me a to-do list. You guys are either a) way to nice or b) on his side. Hmmmmm?

i have lungs...

therefore I shall yell for no reason.

a love letter

Last night I felt quite sick. It was my own fault for taking my pre-natal pill on an empty stomach and then staying up for another two hours texting away and glancing through a book full of baby names. Luckily, after scarfing a nutrigrain bar, drinking some water and sitting up right for about 30 mins I was able to avoid the vomit part that occasionally comes with being pregnant. Andy felt for me do he gave me a back rub then I drooled my way to sleep.

He left early for work this a.m. and I got up just a little before baby. I walked outside my dark room [eyes adjusting to the light, vampire style] and in the kitchen I notice a piece of paper that was not there last night. Instantly my heart leapt a few feet in my chest and I thought he left me a love letter. He has done this before and he knows that just a simple love note gives him major brownie points and starts my long day with out him on the right note.

I got closer and closer and it was his handwriting! [getting excited...falling more in love] Now typically I wouldn't share our love letters with the world wide web but today...you all get to see how sweet Andy's love letters are. This is what I saw:

Can you:
-Cut Colt's nails
-Clean out junk drawer
Please?
Thank You

Ladies, leave the vomiting to me.
If you're confused he left me a To-Do list.
Mental note taken.
Massive brownie point deduction applied.

and her house shrunk three times that day.

We've got toys coming out of our ears. Colt had so much fun at his party. Thanks to all of the family and friends who shared that special day with us. He has been so quiet since his party...every where he turns there is a new toy. I'm still trying to figure out how I can make them all fit in my storage ottoman. All signs point to not possible.
