pants on the ground

I DVR American Idol so I can fast forward most of the boring parts, i.e. people who can't sing...but I happened to catch this dude and I gotta say, I really like him.

This morning Colt's sweatpants started to sag and I shouted,
"LOOKIN LIKE A FOOL WITH YOUR PANTS ON THE GROUND!"

Sometimes stupid things are funny.

looser

It's almost here. After watching this preview I pretty much got teary eyed. Mix a good show and my hormones and you have a big cry baby. Be prepared my Biggest Looser clique, when we gather to watch I will have my Kleenex box near by!

men tell all

This week I'm only 50% embarrassed and 50% bored.

The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All

I watched it by myself...but not if you include 2 hours filled with excessive texting from Kaley, Chelssie, Shannon and Laurie. OH, and Andy watched it with me. He is no longer in the closet. So here are my thoughts...they can be summed up with six words. Hairy. Jake. Farts. Feet. Pepperoni. Reid.

  • Hairy. What was up with the hairy men last night? Like 5 on them had full out beards. Although, HELLO Jesse. Keep that scruff!
  • Jake. Poor Jake. He got pounded. Although, I get what the guys were trying to say [loosen up a bit] having a group of men pound into you on national T.V. can't be that great for the ego. I thought he handled it well, until he tried to act all macho and drop the f-bomb on Sasha. "How's that for perfect?". Still kinda too perfect even when trying to act not perfect. Woman love him. Chelssie loves him. Lots of people love him. I like him. He's a gentleman, but I don't think I want him to be the next Bachelor. At first I thought, YES, he'd be great, but he smiles at everything and he pulls a mighty good "Mesnick"[if you missed it, a 'Mesnick' is when a grown man sobs over a railing, just like Jason Mesnick did]. I much rather it be Mike the break dancer. He's so cute.
  • Farts. Why were there so much farting going on? The guys made it sound like all they did in the house was fart 24/7. Even Chris Harrison got in on the fart action with the 'pull my finger' clip. Was that a real fart???
  • Feet. If I have to see the clip of Tanner P. acting like he's licking a foot one more time I'm going to find the nearest fork and stick it in my right eye. Enough is a enough.
  • Pepperoni. Jillian GOT AT that pepperoni. Just give the girl a piece of pizza already! It's just a piece of meat Jilli, calm down.
  • Reid. And I quote from my post last week..."I'm crossing my fingers hoping for an ABC twist where she brings back Reid..." You all owe me five bucks. I called it. Well, she's not bringing him back but he's coming back. And in the preview he had a ring and a confession. Here I go with my predictions...the confession? I love you. Aw. I like him.

Ok, on with my life.

p.s. Also in the previews for next week Ed is wearing those same green shorts. Time to poke my other eye out.

bye reid. you looked cute in your glasses.

I'm 10% embarrassed to keep talking about this but 90% bored...so here I go...The Bachelorette.

Last night I was graced with the presence of Kaley, Courtney, Chelssie and Laurie. My fellow Bachelorette followers. AND across town Jen and Shannon were texting crazies...so it was almost like there were there. It's fun to watch this show with lots of girls. OH, Lane and Andy were there too. They were outside playing with the dogs but then sat in the kitchen and grazed over the food. We all know they just wanted to catch some of the episode. Come out of the closet all men who watch the bachelorette! You know you watch it.

Anyhow, here's what we've come up with after watching last nights episode:
  1. Jilli is kinda dumb. "Kip, Will you give me a big giant kiss if I jump off this pole???"---I swear she's act's three sometimes. "Reid, look at that giant tribal face sticking his tongue out behind you...He's saying, 'C'mon man, tell her how you feel"---I mean, I swear she's two. ALSO who writes, "J + ?" in the sand?
  2. We all were guessing for weeks who had the bedroom issue. Not like we care...but we do. haha. I quote, directly from Shan's text, "I think it's Kippers Skipper that's on the fritz". Low and behold...it was ED. Ed's problem in bedroom probably stemmed from the fact that he could fit into shorts that short. I mean, Eddie...or Richie...whatever...HOW short were those shorts? Did you enjoy having the man thigh just hanging out all day? Wow. And then he stayed in them for hours and hours? I mean, Jilli's mini-shirt was longer than his shorts. ALL WRONG.
  3. I think part of Jilli's [I'm making myself sick with the Jilli], I mean, JILLIAN likes Ed so much because he's the only one that is willing to propose at the end, and the only one to drop the "L" bomb on her. I'm getting the feeling [by seeing how much pressure she was putting on Reid] that if Wes were back and would have said, "YES. I want to marry you after knowing you for 5 weeks." He would still be on the show. It's like, Jilllian, do you want a great guy or a wedding ring?
  4. Were her and Reid wearing swimsuits in that bath tub? Who would want that on T.V???? AND the oil rub down with Richie? AND when she came out in that white hoodie thingie? Eh, HI MOM!
  5. She made a mistake. Kiptyn MIGHT break her heart...and ED wears short shorts...therefore she should have kept Reid. He was a sweetie. I'm crossing my fingers hoping for an ABC twist where she realizes she made a mistake and brings Reid back and tells ED, "Nair for short shorts!". Then it would be between Kippy and Reid.

Until next time...don't let you husband wear shorts like Richie. It should be against the law.

i've got three days...

So I woke up at 2 a.m. to go rub Colt's head so he'd stop crying. I tried to get back to my dreams but instead I laid there for a really, really ridiculously long time staring at the ceiling, thinking of all sorts of random things. I finally gave up the fight when I started thinking about...What if someone breaks into my house? Where and how would they break in? What would my plan of action be? Is my cell phone charged? How fast can I dial 911? Which neighbors house would I run to? Will Andy let me get a gun and keep it in my nightstand? Then I looked at the clock and noticed it was almost 4 am. Sheesh! So here I am. Up.

Here is one of the things I spent the last two hours thinking about...

I'VE GOT THREE DAYS...to decide if I'm going to jump and watch the new season of The Bachelorette. Serious stuff running through my head, right? This is one of those shows you have to watch from start to nail-biting finish or you're just screwed. If you miss an episode you don't know what the heck's going on and what drama you missed last week. It's all or nothing.

Here are a few reasons I'm always hesitant to make the jump...

  1. Who honestly falls in love with more than one person at once? Especially towards the end when they're like, I'm in love with two people...I have to choose who I'm going to spend the rest of my life with tomorrow at the final rose ceremony and I don't know what to do! The Bachelor/Bachelorette chooses someone and then they go home together...only to find out that in REAL LIFE they don't even really like each other! (i.e. Jason Mesnick - Let me take a second to defend Jason because if you watch the show...I know there are a lot of Jason-haters out there...BUT, until we've lived in this fake reality world, we can't point fingers and say he was wrong for changing his mind after he got back to the real world. He didn't know until it was too late and then he realized he made the wrong choice. You and I would have done the same thing and gotten away with it because we're not on national television. I did on the other hand feel bad for Melissa. Love hurts. She took a chance. However I don't feel bad for her anymore because she's a sexy little hottie-tottie dancer on Dancing With the Stars and she might win that show. Watch her in the finale on Tuesday night.)
  2. The 'Fantasy Suite' gets me every time. I'm pretty sure I'm naive about what happens in the fantasy suite. I have just recently taken on the new thinking that they're probably not in there drinking hot chocolate and playing checkers. I have the old school thinking that you don't spend the night in a room called the 'Fantasy Suite' with every Tom, Dick and Harry that you meet. That's just me. In my head they're in there just hanging out, playing board games and telling jokes...naked. C'mon.
  3. It's another show to add to my repertoire of shows. But I guess A.I & D.W.T.S & B.L. are over next week.

And here is why I'm probably going to watch it anyway...

  1. Jillian is the new Bachelorette and she was on last seasons as one of the girls that The Bachelor was going for. He didn't go for her...well, I mean, he did...but he didn't choose her. She is sweet as can be and who doesn't love to see a happy ending? I want her to find love. Not sure if she'll be able to find it on this show...but I'm going to watch it like a train wreck and keep my fingers crossed.
  2. I listen to music all day [which inhances creativity] and watch the Food Network [where I get good recipes] and therefore I allow myself one show a night to turn my brain back into mush.
  3. And...
  4. Because I can.

Now is your time to come out of the closet. You watching? Yes? No? Maybe So?

March 26, 2009

such a junkie

I hear admitting you have a problem is the 1st step to recovery.

Hi my name is Mo and I'm a reality TV addict.

My weekly fix: American Idol, Biggest Looser, Dancing with the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice. You would think that would be the end of my list...but NO...I also watched The Bachelor this season [Kaley, you get the blame for that one] and I enjoy So You Think You Can Dance during the summers. Outside reality t.v...I'm a lover of Regis and Kelly, The Office, Ellen and anything Food Network [except Barefoot Contessa...she puts me to sleep. In another life I want Paula Dean to be my grandma.]

You might think I have no life and the personality of a dead hippo...but I promise you that almost all of this goes down in the evening which I consider time for me to do whatever I want. It's my life and I'll turn my brain into mush if I want to. [sing it] I spend my mornings with Jesus and the rest of the day goes to my son and to channel 901. Which is a music station. See? I listen to music during the day.

Anyhow. Here I am trying to justify why I'm such a junkie...when all I really wanted to do was share my thoughts on American Idol. Am I the only junkie out there? Say it isn't so.

Here we go...

Scottie is awesome. He's not my favorite...and I don't think he'll win but I'm more and more amazed at what he does and he's blind! Tonight they did a Motown tribute and he did a little dance number with everyone else and didn't miss a move. Ahh. What a sweet guy. I'd like to take this opportunity and thank Jesus for my eye sight. Scott is awesome and such an inspiration but it makes me think how much we take for granted...like the ability to see the color of this world and our children's faces! What a gift.
I had a dream yesterday that I was married to Anoop :)
And...I'm pretty sure Paula is on crack. See the mustache?

I don't really understand the judges ability to save contestants this season either. Would someone like to explain that to me? Tonight the 'save' was a mess. Paula was dancing the whole time and when it came down to say if they were going to save Michael or not they hadn't even started talking about it. They were clearly not anonymous but Simon spoke up and sent him home anyway. That Simon...such a meanie.

So...after seeing this weeks performances...I don't vote, never have...but if I did, my votes would go to Danny, Anoop and Adam. That chick with the red hair is good too...but I think a boy is taking it this year.

Until next time my dear friends, So Long.

check it out

While watching the nightly news with Brian Williams they did a story on a food drive that my church helped out with. Made me proud. It's great being apart of a church that loves boldly. It was way cool to see Mark's (our pastors) interview on national television. We grew up with his kids and he is like a 2nd Dad to us. He married Andy and I and has been instrumental in our walk with Christ.
Anyhow.
I like good news!
Check it out.

moo ha ha

This is my most favorite snack.

And Bob Harper [from B. looser] said that it was one of his too. I do whatever Bob does. He is smart and buff and I'm convinced if I continued to eat these laughing cow cheese wedges I will also become smart and buff.

Speaking of the Biggest Looser. Is Joelle a nutcase or what? I mean, I get that Carla is a bit loud and overbearing and has communication problems...but it just seems like she was totally zoned out that whole time and didn't care at all about being there. Now their not even friends. Dramaaaa.

Andy wants to bet that Joelle doesn't even show up to the finale.

Any takers?

What have you done today to make me feel proud?
