My family is kinda, sorta, really obsessed with Just Dance, the Wii game. Just to prove how good we are, I've sliced and diced some of our home video footage from last weekend. Please make sure you check out how good my little cousin Jack is while busting a move, how talented my Dad is at moving both his arms with only one good rotater cuff and how talented my Grandma is at dancing in high heels. Enjoy!

chucks
When Colt was born his Uncle Spencer bought him a $25 pair of shoes. Insanity! I don't even spend that much on my own shoes but I thought, he wants to spoil him so I'll let him. When he pulled the shoes out of the box they were a toddler size 7. For some reason Spence thought all shoes smaller than his size 12 monster foot must fit all tiny baby feet. We had a laugh.
Anyhow, these shoes have sat in Colt's closet for 1.5 years and finally they fit.

Please meet...the Chuck Taylors.
Leave it to Uncle Spence to make sure my dude is stylin.

If only all shoe strings really tasted like those fried potato shoe strings.
the flu
Sometimes I tell Andy I wish I could get the flu so I can sit in bed all day and sleep and eat soup and be babied and have Andy take care of Colt. I know that sounds ridiculous. But, I'm ridiculous, what can I say? Mommas never get a day off...ever. Now, now...I live and breath my son. I'm the woman who misses him roughly an hour after I put him down every night. I pretty much just want to sleep for an entire day.
I haven't slept well for two nights in a row now and I'm to the point of just crying at anything at all...simply because my brain hasn't rested in quite some time. It's fried. Sorta like an egg.
Baby girl is TAKING OVER and by taking over I mean, my stomach is in my throat, my throat is in my eye sockets. Which makes eating anything very interesting. I could try to lay down and feel like barfing a few seconds later or just continue to move in an upright position and pray I sleep tonight.

What I really want? The flu.
quiet time
Usually when I hear nothing in my house, it means Colt is eating dog food or he's gotten the cap of my chap stick and is eating it as an afternoon snack. Lots of eating going on.
The other day, when I heard nothing and saw nothing, I went on a little boy hunt, expecting the worse. When I found him he was sitting in the sunshine with his bible and his blankie, mumbling it to Copper.
My heart melted.
Then I took this picture.

brunch with benefits
Today my friend Emily came over. She lives in Chicago and we always hang when she's in town...good times are had, let me tell you. Today she brought over breakfast. She made a feast of bacon, eggs, bagels, blueberries, raspberries, grapes and cinnamon rolls! al;ksjdfl;kasjdkfas. SO GOOD.
I love breakfast.
THEN...get this...she did my dishes. LOVE HER.
AND THEN...she went outside and threw a slobbery ball to Copper for 30 minutes to wear her out for me. LOVE LOVE LOVE her! It's the small things that really bless my heart...like playing with Copper. So helpful.

This picture was taken during Christmas a few years ago. Every year she comes and helps me decorate my entire house in one night for the Christmas season. Yet another reason why I love her. Sometimes we get silly.
I'm spoiled.
And I have really great friends...

the dinner table
We hadn't used our newly cut/shortened dinner table until the other night. Andy made dinner and even though Colt had already eaten his dinner while we were cooking ours, he insisted on sitting in the chair like a big boy and joining mom and dad.
I walked into the kitchen to grab something and when I walked back I couldn't believe my little baby was big enough to sit at the table. I looked at Andy and said, just wait until all the chairs are filled and we have people yapping back at us. That will be weird.
He's a civilized man, eating at the dinner table with sippie cup in hand. He kept dipping his cranberries in his chicken and taking a bite. I'll have to remember to use chicken as my next dipping sauce of choice. Every once in a while in true boy fashion he would kick his stinky little foot up on the table just to show us how flexible he is. Then we told him to mind his manors.

saint katie
The other day I was in my kitchen when the doorbell rang and the mail lady delivered a box with MY name on it. I was in the middle of cutting my dad's hair [yep, I'm a kitchen beautician] so Andy got the box. He read the return address...it was from Oregon from a place called Saint Cupcake? Did he say C U P C A K E???
After a few minutes of Andy being impatient he went to grab some scissors to open the box with MY name on it. Oh no he didn't! After a few short words leapt from my mouth and cut to his soul he backed off and realized that he should wait for me to open the box with MY name on it. So he did. Thankfully.
After the note I saw the sweetest individually wrapped cupcakes...
Then I saw cute little containers of icing...
Then sprinkles...
Then wands to apply the icing and instructions on how to decorate a cup cake.
Needless the say, this made my day. Let's say it made my week. These cupcakes were the most moist, delicious things I've ever eaten in my life! Seriously. My favorite was the chocochip cupcake and the cream cheese icing. Yum, Yum and Yum! And for all of you wondering...I only shared with Molly. Saint Katie said I didn't have to share with anyone else...and when Saint Katie says something, you listen.

I opened the box and saw this...another box, a pink one.
With a sticker on it that said Saint Cupcake.
Then I saw this sweet note. The cupcakes were from my friend Katie Holt who lives on the west coast. We went to church together and spent many summers together as counselors at Camp Adventure. She thought of me and sent me a special treat...just because! Which is why I will forever refer to her as Saint Katie. 'Katie' alone is no longer good enough.
