anybody seen my husband?

I feel like having a pity party.

I miss my husband. Today was his day off. He had paramedic class from 8-12. Stopped by the grocery after that. Got home at 1:30. Got a call for partial overtime at 2:00. Left for work at 4:00. Won't see him until tomorrow at 9am. Another night I get to sleep by myself. Yay.

On top of 24 hr work shifts and class twice a week the grass is growing. Andy's Lawn Care to the rescue. He'll have to start mowing his lawn accounts every week. Know what that means? I'll never see him.

Next Wednesday they start getting the schedule ready for their clinical's. Clinical's are times Andy has to spend in the ER. Hands of stuff. Before he graduates next spring he has to put in an extra 500 hours of clinical time outside work and school and mowing. Know what that means? I'm never ever gonna see him.

My friend Laurie [a fellow fire fighters wife and my dear dear friend] figured out the nights that us ladies have to spend alone and it come out to 120 days a year we're alone. 120 days a year!

I want to be thankful that Andy has a job and I want to be thankful that I don't have to work because he does...but right now I'm just pissed that I had to say goodbye again...on his freaking day off...and do life on my own.

p.s. how many sticks to I have to pee on? it's been 46 days and I'm still peeing on sticks hopeing one will say positive. going in next Tuesday for blood work. cross your fingers I'm just all out of whack and not in the process of miscarrying.

i won't take it for granted

Sunday before lunch our whole family bowed our heads to pray together and I heard my fathers voice. I heard my Dad say the blessing, which he does every Holiday, but I also heard my Heavenly Fathers voice. As I listened to Dad pray God reminded me of the gift he gave my family 43 days ago. Dad was in the ICU recovering from brain surgery. It was a totally unexpected life threatening event. People say that we don't see miracles like we do back in the bible days...but God gave us a miracle that day. My Dad shouldn't be here. If he would have followed doctors orders he would not be here. His life was saved that day. My family witnessed a miracle.

As I closed my eyes to pray I thanked God that I got to hear my Daddy's voice say the blessing. We could have had a very very different Easter. Someone else would have said the blessing...and I'm sure we would have praying for God's strength to continue on without my Dad. We didn't have to pray that prayer.

I don't want to forget about what God has done for us. I don't want to forget about the gift of Jesus and the fact that even now days God shows himself to his people. I don't want to stop talking about it. I am so thankful and I promise you Lord I wont take it for granted.
Life is so sweet.

crickets/tarantulas

Would you rather...

a. Have 1000 tarantulas in your house while you sleep?

or

b. Have 5000 crickets in your bedroom while you sleep?

AND you have to sleep naked with only a sheet to cover you up.

AND you can't close/open your bedroom door.

Remember...crickets make noise and jump...tarantulas are big hairy spiders.

happy easter

We've been busy getting ready for our Easter Weekend Extravaganza. We have Easter with the Bredens today and the Michaels tomorrow. Mom bought Colt a really cute Easter outfit. It's blue and white plaid short-over-alls. My dilemma...do boys wear tights??? It's supposed to be chilly on Easter. Maybe knee highs? Poor Kid.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Easter. Enjoy this weekend with the love ones around and lets not forget the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us. Wanna hear something else really cool...He is coming back. He is coming back for you. Think we'll be able to blog in Heaven? Let's all have a giant blogosphere party when we get there. That might be the only time some of us meet...in heaven. Craziness.

Here is a picture that I stare at whenever I get a chance. My friend Shannon took it when she visited last week. This is her little boy Gavin and Colt. They're such sweeties. This might be my most favorite picture.

Happy Easter!

we're getting chessy

Colt is seven months old and has just learned how to smile for the camera.

Melts my heart.

Nothing can prepare you for the cuteness you're about to see...

it's a text message

What do you get when you have a Grandma who has a new cell phone that takes good pictures...but doesn't want to learn how to text?

You get this...Note: Grandpa was used as a prop for this message because of his good looks and his ability to hold a 3"x8" piece of paper in an upright position.

Aren't they cute??

truth be told...

truth be told...I got pee'd on tonight.

truth be told...I haven't changed out of my pajamas since Saturday.

truth be told...after I got pee'd on Colts foot went into his own poop and then on to my hands.

truth be told...my mom just said to me 'goodnight...now go make a baby!'

truth be told...I'm glad she didn't say S-E-X.

truth be told...I DVR'd the Academy of Country Music Awards and have watched it three times since it aired last night.

truth be told...I didn't fast forward through the commercials.

truth be told...I'm an idiot.

truth be told...I want to be Julianne Hough from DWTS.

truth be told...I never know if I should pronounce her name as Ho...or Huff. So instead I'll call her...J-Ho.

truth be told...when I cut Colt's 'side locks' tonight Andy said I made his hair look worse.

truth be told...Andy calls my fiber bars...'fart bars'

truth be told...he is a fart bar.

truth be told...I'm jealous of all my family in Florida on Spring Break.

truth be told...I still think snow is pretty in Indiana, even on April 6th.

truth be told...I might get shot for saying that. I know a few angry Hoosiers.

truth be told...Andy's chicken sandwich from Nutrisystem looked like cat food.

truth be told...I'm ordering Nutrisystem too.

truth be told...I like cat food.

truth be told...my bed is lonely sometimes and I miss my husband.

truth be told...he's snoozing right now and for the life of me I can't bring myself to sleep! Anyone know of a good sleeping pill?

truth be told...I take back my Would You Rather. I rather lick the sweaty arm pit.

truth be told...I don't understand Twitter.

truth be told...sometimes I wish I lived on a farm and lived a more simple life.

truth be told...I'd probably get attacked by wild cockroaches and never stand a chance. Not just any kind of cockroaches...but the wild ones.

k. going to go to sleep.

truth be told...I'll probably just lay there with my eyes all bug-eyed...stare at my spinning fan...try to count the rotations...think of a witty blog entry...and the name of my new book...snuggle up to Andy...get rejected from snuggling because, "You're too hot"...question if he meant that as 'sweaty hot' or a 'sexy hot'...remember that I'm still in my pj's from Saturday and confirm that was not a 'sexy hot'...consider getting up and checking my facebook...reassure myself that no one had changed their status in the last 4 minutes...hear a noise...think it's a burglar...decided it was something smaller like a mouse or a giant cockroach...feel a tickle in my hair...slap my head thinking I felt a cockroach...eventually fall asleep...get woken up at 5:45am by Andy saying Goodbye as he leaves for work...give him kisses through my sleepy haze and hear him say something about my awesome dragon breath...keep sleeping until I hear 'Ya ya ya ya ya...Ma ya ya...ma ma ma ma'...you get the idea.

toe nails/arm pits

There is a game I love to play. I used to play it with my brother when we were younger, then with all my friends in high school and now it's be revived [via girls night...whoot whoot] and that game is Would You Rather.

I've decided to make an effort in playing this game with you every Monday [don't hold me to it]. Mondays can suck sometimes...so let's play a game.

The rules: You choose one of the two options & explain why you choose the way you did. Very fun.

Would you rather...
a. Bite off a strangers toe nail?

or

b. Lick a stangers hairy sweaty arm pit?

Baaahhhahahaha! Why do I love this game so much?

April has been fun so far.

I've been post-less for the last few days. One reason being my phone. Almost all the pictures on my blog are taken with my Verizon chocolate. Colt loved my phone too. Every chance he got he would grab it and drool all over it. Because of that baby drool, my keys stopped working and I told Andy, Dang...looks like I'm gonna have to get a blackberry since my keys stopped working. Andy got on the phone with Verizon and tried to figure out what we could do.

A few minutes later he walked into the kitchen with his old phone [the phone from his pre-blackberry days] and said Look...I got you a new phone! So, until August when I can renew my contract and get a real new phone, I get to used Andy's hand me down phone. The buttons work but the picture quality is poop. See how fuzzy the pictures are in my April One post?? Oh well. It keeps us from spending money which is all apart of 'the plan'.

Since my new-used phone doesn't have a good camera I've been having to get out my digital camera which seems like so much more work. I have to plug things in and click download. See? Too much work. Anyhow, here are some shots taken with a real camera and a few from my piece-o-poop phone camera. Try and guess which is which.

This has been our month of April so far...

No this isn't one of those hands you put in the back of a car trunk...this is Colt mid-nap.
The sideways lean. Colt's has taken his cuteness to a new level.Copper n' Colt. They like each other.Friday we went bowling with our friends. Here is Kaley and I. She's pregnant. Her baby is hiding, not only in this picture, but in real life too. It's an invisible baby. The only way I know she's really pregnant is I saw the ultra sound pictures. But she ate a lot of pizza on Friday and if I blur my eyes I can see a baby bump...OH and she almost beat the guys while bowling. So if you add all those signs together...you have a BABY!Here is Andy and I bowling at the same time. We bet that whoever knocked down more pins got a five minute back rub. We went at the same time and got matching GUTTER BALLS! Then on our second roll I knocked down all but 1 and Andy got another GUTTER BALL!! He got gutter balls the whole night and ended up only getting 60 points for there entire 3 rounds of bowling we played. He sucks at bowling. This is John and Ang. They're married too. Ang was really excited because her iPhone glowed in the dark. It was Cosmic Bowl Friday. Black light baby. I was really hoping my light gray shirt would make me one giant glow ball but instead all I did was blend in and become invisible the whole night. My teeth didn't even glow. Sadness. This is Andy and I. We're married to each other. See Rob in the background? That's Kaley's baby daddy. They're married too. And having a baby. Except you can't see it yet. This is [from left to right, in case you get confused] ME, JEN, and KALEY. Somehow my head magically becomes three times the size of a normal head every time I take a picture. What's the deal with that? This is Nic and Jen bowling together. They're married too...and remember Colt's friend baby Logan? That's their baby. Funny story...The last round of bowling all the girls played with each other and we all had to do funny things before we threw the ball like...tap dance your way up to the lane then release and then give us your best 'jazz hands'...or...the do the Fred Flintstones fast toes run then release. One of them was skip up the lane then release. Well...JEN for some reason forgot to how to skip [i think she's still recovering from childbirth...it jacks ya all up]...anyhow she forgot how to skip and did a fancy hop-scotch move instead. Then she was baffled by her brain fart and almost pee'd her pants laughing so hard. She recovered...stepped to the line again and gave us her best second-attempt at skipping. She skipped nicely down the lane but released the ball backwards and almost killed us all. That was the point in the evening when we all almost pee'd our pants. Ahhh...good times. This is me curled up under my favorite blanket. Yesterday I told Andy that I hope in Heaven that clouds are made of down comforters that smell like bleach. That combination makes me really happy. This is baby boy yesterday at the Dr's office. We have another ear infection. Every time we think he might be getting a tooth there is a stuffy nose and a ear infection to follow. We caught it really early this time so he hasn't been near as sad.

Check out that cute hat! It a Walmart design. Walmart is my new Target. I'm falling head over heals.

Longest post ever.

Sending Love.

april one

Andy has paramedic class this morning then he goes straight to the station. We always text during his class. Don't tell the teacher. Here is our convo thus far:

Andy: Awake yet? How are you?
Me: "I drank all my milk Dad! Mom has a tummy ache"
Me: I took a pregnancy test.
Andy: And???
Me: All I can say is I wish you were home...
Me: I'll send you a picture of my result
Me:
Andy: Mean Mommy.

Not the best trick I've ever come up with but it's still early.

Bug Update: Andy researched and their not roaches. He has yet to tell me what they are. I asked him last night if he could pretty please get a bug guy and he said, eventually. That is not a joke.
