why I won't be putting the infant carseat away anytime soon!
We're pregnant!
Again!
Praise the Lord I'm not pre-diabetic or too fat to get pregnant after all! After taking that 10 day pill the doctors gave me, I still didn't start so I took a pregnancy test and in about 2.6 nanoseconds a bright pink plus sign appeared!!
YAY!
Thank you Jesus!
My due date is April 24th but I'll have to be induced again and they said after Coley was born that they'd take me a week or two early so I'm thinking more like mid April. I'm about 1/2 way done with my first trimester and had an ultra sound just a few days ago. We got to see and hear the heartbeat and it was amazing. That little heartbeat chugging along never EVER gets old. One of the best sounds ever.
I understand it's still early on in my pregnancy and a number of different things could still happen but I'm too happy and thankful to not blog about it. Woman who wait until their 2nd trimester to tell people deserve a gold medal. I understand their reasoning...but I'm not that good of a secret keeper. On the other hand I don't plan on putting it up on a Burkhart Billboard [aka. Facebook] anytime soon. If something, God forbid, would happen along the way it's a little harder to post that to the Facebook world. Either way I feel like I get so much support from my blog readers that I'm in good hands no matter what.

bloody nubs
Yesterday was the start to Fall weather here in Indiana. I LOVE fall. So I decided Coley and I should go on a walk. Typically we just do a big circle and add a few zig zag's in there and call it a day but for some reason yesterday I had my mind set on a two mile walk so I went to http://www.runstoppable.com/, this website Andy uses to chart the distance of his runs and I mapped out two miles in our neighborhood.
Since my neighborhood is minute, to get a 2 mile walk in you have to pretty much walk the same path 90hundred times. I could venture out past my neighborhood to other subdivisions but I would have to walk on some bigger roads to do so and whenever I pass people walking their baby in a stroller on bigger streets I think to myself that THAT mother is probably doing crack. So instead I walked in circles...well, circles, and squares, and straight lines...back n' forth a dillion times.
I grabbed some old flip flops, threw on a strand of pearls that went well with my argyle sweater and got to it. About 1/2 way through my walk when I stopped to check on Coley I realized that when I stopped my feet started to burn. HORRIBLE choice to wear flops. The pads of my feet were seriously on fire. NO STOPPING NOW. The worse part was since I was so temped because I came close to my house about a hundred times in that two mile walk. But I PERSEVERED!! I knew at that point I would have blood nubs. Here is where the term 'bloody nubs' comes from:
Lesson of the day...
Don't let your friends walk in flops or brown boots for that matter.

- Once my friends and I took a trip to Chicago to eat good food and walk around. I choose to wear some really cute brown boots that HAD been comfortable in weeks past. I would wear them to work for 8+ hours and they never gave me any trouble...well, I'd never ventured in the great city of Chicago for 12+ hours in them...walking everywhere we went. It was near the end of our day and my feet were BURNING to say the least. Everyone was still power walking and doing good but I was crumbling and kept searching for the nearest place to sit down and wail out in pain. That's when I would shout ahead to my friends...."I'm Coming! Wait for me!...My feet have turned into blood nubs". I no longer had feet. I had walked them down to just stubs...or nubs...and they felt bloody. And there you have it...Bloody Nubs. Just ask Kaley or Andy. They were there.
I was pretty sure before I even got home from the walk I had bloody nubs. Sure enough when Andy got home from mowing I was waddling around in the front yard walking on my heals. He asked what was wrong. My response?
"Bad flops. Bloody Nubs."
He laughed at me.Lesson of the day...

it's an oreo

Pair it with a goblet full of milk that's been sitting in the freezer for 15 minutes and you have a little slice of Heaven. I would like for this to be my lunch everyday.
If I could...
I would...
But I can't...
So I shan't...
Is shan't a word?
What's your latest craving?

welcome to the world.
Avalon Taylor aka. My best friends baby.7:08am
6lb, 4oz
Isn't she adorable? THIS is the only picture I've actually seen of her. I was at the hospital last night from 1am-6:30am and little Ava was born at 7:08am. Missed her by just a hair! Stink. Going up there soon though. I gotta see this girl in real life.
Kaley did great. I got to hang with her between contractions and then post epidural [yes, she took da drugs] and was sooo happy she did. She didn't have to push for very long either so over all a very very successful, healthy labor. Looking at this picture and thinking that my best friend has a little girl just makes my eyes leak a little bit.
Welcome to the world Baby Ava. It's a beautiful place. We're glad to have you.

83 never looked so schnazzy
Meet Betty.
Betty is Andy's grandma...well, my grandma too. Grandma-in-law. She is by far one of the most interesting, funny, loving people I have ever met...and I'm not just being nice because it's her birthday. She turned 83 yesterday.
You see that leopard print scarf around her neck? I bought her that for her birthday. I thought it was so cute I bought myself one too. Yes, Betty and I have matching leopard scarves. I told her now that she's 83 it's time to add some leopard print to her wardrobe. She agreed.

Here are some things I love about Betty:
- She says, neckin' when referring to two people kissing.
- Betty is so quiet [most quiet out of the whole family] and she doesn't ever want to interrupt people that she'll wait until dinner is almost 1/2 over before asking for salad dressing, or salt, or even sometimes her DINNER. TRUE STORY...Kelli [Andy's mom] always makes Betty's plate for her and once Kelli forgot and 1/2 way through dinner we look over at Betty and she's just sitting there...watching us all eat! We all had a little laugh and scolded her for being so pretty and proper. Then we got her some food.
- She likes reality TV shows...JUST LIKE ME : )
- In the breden family everyone is paired up: Matt [Andy's Dad] and Krystle [Andy's Sister] are alike...Andy and Kelli are alike...then there is Betty and I :) I can't tell you how many times we have just looked at each other and totally understood what the other was trying to say. We have a secret language.
- I love how she kicks my butt at every card game I've ever tried to play with her but always acts like she doesn't care that she won.
Anyways, she is pretty spectacular.
Happy birthday Betty!
